For the month of July, Cordell Memorial Hospital (CMH) in partnership with the Cordell Ministerial Alliance, Cordell Public Schools, Burns Flat-Dill City Public Schools, Canute Public Schools, and Sentinel Public Schools are ready to help Washita County by holding their first Hygiene Drive.
“CMH is very interested in helping in the community when needed. CMH heard of the hygiene need from teachers and we knew this was an area that we could be of help,” said Donna Gubser, CMH Human Resources.
Not only is adequate, clean hygiene necessary for children and teens, but good personal hygiene also boosts confidence. Good hygiene is critical for preventing the spread of infectious diseases and helping children lead long, healthy lives.
Acceptable donation items needed are: shampoo and conditioner, body wash or bars of soap, toothbrush and toothpaste and/or gift cards.
Donation drop off is located at CMH, 1220 N Glenn English, Cordell.
“We are planning to have these [hygiene] items at the schools the first week in August and periodically throughout the year. [We want to] let the community know we are here to help and to help with the kids hygiene needs,” stated Gubser.
