Cordell Memorial Hospital and Cordell Family Clinic has added new Nurse Practitioner Abby Parker to their team of healthcare providers.
“My number one priority is to provide resources for people to access healthcare close to home and without having to worry about any financial burdens,” said Abby Parker, APRN, FNP-BC.

Parker, of Newkirk, OK, is a Southwestern Oklahoma State University alum, where she received her bachelor’s in nursing. Thereafter she worked as a registered nurse for five years before returning to school at Frontier Nursing University in Versailles, KY, where she earned her master’s degree.
“I am very honored to have graduated from a program whose mission is to provide primary care to women and families with an emphasis on rural and under-served populations,” stated Parker.
“Rural communities have a special place in my heart and feel like home.”
Not only does Parker have a true passion for rural communities, but for women’s health as well.
“After finishing nursing school, I knew I had a passion for women’s health. I pursued my dream as a labor and delivery nurse working in a small hospital where I did everything from delivering babies to routine gynecological care.”
“I soon became to realize that I enjoyed working with women in general, getting to know their stories, and helping them through the best times of their life to sometimes the worst,” she explained.
Parker has stated that her experience here at CMH has been nothing short of amazing.
“Everyone here is kind, [and are] down to earth, loving individuals who truly care about you and your well-being,” Parker said.
“In addition, I wanted to surround myself with a supportive and cohesive team and that is exactly what type of atmosphere is provided at CMH.”
