Cordell Memorial Hospital

A Message from Melinda Laird, CEO/CNO

2022 has arrived and 2 years ago we thought we would not be talking about COVID but we are, sorry. I know that it is frustrating and there are variations on what to do to prevent, treat and heal when comes to COVID. I will briefly mention, if you have any questions, need clarification please contact us or the Health Department to receive correct information, it does change frequently which makes it difficult to stay current with information.

At CMH we are looking forward to 2022 with excitement as we prepare to bring new services to our community. It is the plan to grow our services so that you do not have to travel for care. More information will be coming as we develop our plan to grow our outpatient services and maintain our inpatient care.

We will be having a joint Health Fair with other county health care providers and services in the spring to provide you information about CMH, healthy habits that include diet, exercise and health management for a healthier Washita County.

It also important at this time of year for you to look at your health needs that include keeping your family informed of your expectations. As of November 1, 2021 Oklahomans are not able to appoint a designee to make a health care decisions on their behalf, there is no Health Care Proxy. Legislation established a new Uniform Power of Attorney Act and relies upon individuals to execute an advance directive.

We have a process in place to ensure the appropriate review of advance planning and if you have question you would like to discuss, we always welcome them to help you with your health care decisions.

2022 has good things happening at CMH and we look forward to sharing with you.

For your health and wellness,

Melinda
