Bryson Ramirez hasn’t always played soccer, but found a love for the sport with the help of Head Coach Darrin Taylor.
Getting his start in his freshman year, Ramirez’s soccer skills have grown substantially since his first debut on the field, thanks to Taylor‘s unbiased support.
“Coach Taylor is the best coach I’ve ever had. He doesn’t care about names, and will give anyone a chance,” Bryson said.
Ramirez is a goalie on the Cordell team, and credits Taylor for being the reason he has stuck with soccer for four years.
Taylor enjoyed having Ramirez on his team, and appreciates all he was willing to do for his team.
“Bryson has always given me everything he’s got, even when he was injured,” Coach Taylor said.
With an open mind, Taylor is willing to hold the door open for any player who is willing to put forth effort.
“I do encourage everyone to come and play soccer. I’ll give anyone an opportunity to play if they want to try,” Taylor said.
The biggest supporters in Ramirez’s life are his parents, AJ Ramirez and Stephanie Brown, who give everything they can to their son.
“My parents do a lot for me and I’m very thankful for them, they have had a massive impact on my life. My dad has taught me so many life lessons, like how to be an adult and what I should and shouldn’t do,” he said. “My mom always does everything she can to make me happy, she’s always there for me.”
When Ramirez isn’t at home or on the field, he enjoys fishing for largemouth bass or catfish.
“Fishing is probably my biggest hobby. I like to go to ponds around here, or out to lake Vanderwork. If I could, I would love to do it professionally, but I know that is unlikely,” Bryson said.
Another one of Ramirez’s favorite things to do is spend time with his girlfriend of over three years, Carrington Kohout.
The pair are inseparable, and support each other through everything.
“She’s always there for me, I know she will always be there,” Bryson said.
