Now on the 5th day of February 2024, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Goeringer calling the meeting to order. Goeringer asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call.

Kevin Rozell has announced that he will run for Sheriff of Washita County. He is a longtime resident of Washita County and a member of the 1987 graduating class of Sentinel High School. He and his wife, Jennifer Kamphaus Rozell, share four children.

Local United States Postal Service (USPS) mail carrier recently received a 25-year Career Service Certificate. The certificate awarded Brian Cunningham of Cordell for 25 years of service in the Government of the United States of America.

Hi my name is Amber Schneberger. I am a senior at Canute High School. I’m the daughter of Rebecca Ramsey and Dennis Schneberger. I’m involved in FFA as the chapter treasurer and a member of the shooting team, volleyball, FCA and yearbook. In my free time I enjoy refinishing furniture, being outside and spending time with family. After high school I plan to go to college for business to either become a real estate agent or a remodeling contractor.

Cordell elementary vocal students, under the direction of Elizabeth Edge, have been excelling this school year in competitions and performances.In October, several students submitted auditions to be a part of the 2024 Oklahoma Music Educators Association Children’s All-State Choir.
