Dear Editor; The onslaught of campaign ads by television and by the U.S. Mail that we have endured in 2026 have been masterfully orchestrated by professional hands. As I watched those concerning the race for the office of Governor of Oklahoma, I was reminded of a comment read in a history lesson years ago. It stated something like this: “If you tell lies often enough and loud enough and long enough people will believe them.” These advertisements about a couple of those candidates began to seem to me that they might originate from a single source.
The Primary Election is still two days away and this letter will not reach publication until later. I am thinking that someone believes this pair of candidates might be the front runners in the governor’s race and these ads might tilt the final outcome at the general election. This final outcome will be decided by you the Oklahoma voters and Oklahomans are smart enough to recognize attempts to manipulate them.
Consider the political advertisements we’ve watched for the last couple of months. When one subject is almost too good to be true and another is so bad as to be an objectionable subject. Makes one wonder just who is paying for this continuous stream of political matter. How much truth in advertising has been omitted in Oklahoma this spring?
How does one handle something like this? Check them out; know who you are voting for.
