In-person absentee voting- more commonly referred to as “early voting” in Oklahoma- is available to all voters. No excuse is needed.
You can vote early in Washita County for the June 16th primary election at the Election Office in the courthouse in Cordell from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 11th and Friday, June 12th.
Voters are reminded that Oklahoma has closed primaries. For 2026, in order to participate in a party’s primary election, you must be a registered voter of that party.
Local offices being decided in the primary election are County Commissioners for both Districts 1 and 3, and Washita County Assessor. Of note on the state level, Cordell resident Todd Russ seeks to keep his seat as Oklahoma State Treasurer and is being opposed by State Auditor Cindy Byrd.
All candidates in the above-mentioned races are Republicans, which means if you are not registered as a member of the Republican Party you will not see them on your ballot.
