Washita Co. Commissioners minutes

Now on the 25th day of November 2024, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Goeringer calling the meeting to order.

Chairman Goeringer asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call. Roll call was answered by Gossen, present; Goeringer, present; Chandler, present.

The Board reviewed the minutes of the previous regular meeting. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the minutes as presented. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the blanket purchase orders as filed in the County Clerk’s Office. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Phil Kliewer, Greg Cox, Dale Selman, Heather Benavidez, and Sarah Lau were present to discuss the funding and placement of Christmas on the Courthouse and/or lawn. Phil stated that CK Energy has agreed to donate $15,000 towards the lights and the installation of them by Holman Tree Service. Motion made by Chandler seconded by Gossen to approve the lights being placed on the Courthouse and the lawn. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Chandler seconded by Gossen to sign the Court Clerk Records Management and Preservation monthly report. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to sign the Detention Transportation Claim for the month of October for reimbursement to the Washita County Justice Center. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Goeringer seconded by Chandler to approve the payment of safety awards for all eligible county employees for 2024. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

The Board discussed the county luncheon being held on November 27, 2024 beginning at noon at the Washita County Activity Center to recognize employees and present safety awards. No action was taken.

Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to sign the Department of Emergency Management Project Completion Certification and Final Reimbursement Acceptance for FEMA Disaster No. 4587. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Chandler seconded by Gossen to table the Application to Work Within the Right of Way for Pioneer Telephone Cooperative, Inc within Sections 13,14,23,24 of Township 8N, Range 19W. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Goeringer seconded by Chandler to sign the Administrative Settlement for the Goeringer Family Living Trust, Parcel No. 28 of the Bessie Road Project administered by CED. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
