Blue Devil Homecoming Week filled with festivities

The excitement is undeniable as Cordell gears up for one of the year’s most fan-favorite events—Football Homecoming! The streets of Cordell will come alive with school spirit, community pride, and a lot of Blue Devil gear.

Mark your calendars for Friday, September 13th, when the Homecoming Parade kicks off at 2:00 p.m. in the heart of downtown. The Pride of Cordell Marching Band, under the direction of Aaron Edge, will lead the parade, and their performance will reverberate through the streets, filling the town with school spirit.

Cordell High School sophomores, juniors, and seniors have been working hard designing and building their Homecoming floats and are ready to showcase their creativity. These floats will parade through the square, each more impressive than the last, showcasing the students’ school pride and artistic talents.

Remember to cheer on the youngest Blue Devils as Cordell Elementary students join the festivities and march in the parade, proudly waving and expressing their excitement.

The Cordell Blue Devil Football teams and Cheerleaders will also be making their way around the square, amping up the energy and excitement for the big game later that evening. No Homecoming Parade would be complete without the homecoming queen candidates, who will grace the streets with their radiant smiles and hopeful waves, each vying for the 2024 Football Homecoming Queen title.

After the parade, the fun doesn’t stop. Stick around the courthouse steps for more school spirit and excitement from the homecoming candidates, coaches, and players. Get ready for some lighthearted fun with games sure to cause an uproar of laughter and friendly competition.

And then, the moment everyone has been waiting for—the crowning of the Homecoming Queen at 6:00 p.m. at Blue Devil Stadium. The excitement will reach a fever pitch as the Cordell Blue Devils take to the field to face off against the Konowa Tigers at 7:00 p.m., kicking off the main event of Homecoming Week. Under the Friday night lights, the community will rally behind their team, cheering them on to what we hope will be a triumphant victory.
