Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, get ready to take a trip back in time to the totally awesome era many know and love as the Cordell Chamber of Commerce announced the parade theme for the 37th Annual Pumpkin Festival Parade!
The Chamber is thrilled to announce this year’s parade theme: “Back to the 80s!” Get ready to experience the nostalgia, the fun, and the colorful vibes of one of the most iconic decades in history. So dust off your leg warmers, tease up your hair, and join the parade for a radical celebration that will transport you back to the era of big hair, neon colors, and unforgettable music. Don’t miss out on the chance to relive the magic of the 80s!
Adorn the square with colorful floats and popular, nostalgic music from the time. Several 80s classic movies could inspire many floats, from Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters (1984), Back to the Future, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, and many more beloved films.
The winner of the best “Back to the 80s!” float will have their name on the new Parade Float Trophy. In creating your 80s masterpiece, share the progress using the hashtag #cordellinthe80s for a chance to win tickets to the Washita Theatre. Winners for the movie tickets will be announced at the festival.
