Hobart’s Hometown Legends show to raise money for clothing for children in need

Hometown Legends is a bluegrass music event that will be held at 7 p.m.

Friday, June 28 at the Stanley Building in Hobart. Proceeds from the event will go toward buying clothes for children in need. The goal is to raise $3,000 so that $150 can be spent on 20 children.

Kris Ramber, Producer of the Hometown Legends, has taken on this project because he has a passion for God and country and is concerned at the decline of our community.

Kris has a love for music, which probably began in the womb as his mother rested a guitar on her pregnant belly and sang. Music sustained him through challenging times, like when his mother gave him a stack of Elvis records that he played and sang to while lifting weights to strengthen his body and battle illness.

His first recording was, “Let It Be Me,” which was recorded as a Valentine gift for his wife. This was recorded by Paul Shields and accompanied by Tonya Bryant. Kris sang with the same passion before crowds and by the bedside of one entering eternity. Music is as important to him as oxygen.

Kris’ production of Hometown Legends promises to be a fun evening of different genres of music including Bluegrass, country, classic rock, pop, gospel and comedy. The event also champions the youth in, by providing back-to-school clothes for kids in need.

Admission will be $5 for 12 and under, $10 for adults and $15 for a couple. Admission for veterans and pre-school age children will be free.

Other performers will be Richie Rodriguez, Robert Johnston, Terri Lander and comedienne Julie K. Barnett, along with late addition to the program, “The Golden Girls” from El Reno, who are world renowned crowd pleasers and brighten any room they inhabit.

A silent auction will also be held to help raise funds.

You can outright sponsor a child for $150. Donations can be made to Great Plains Bank.
