Now on the 17th day of June 2024, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Goeringer calling the meeting to order.
Chairman Goeringer asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call. Roll call was answered by Gossen, present; Goeringer, present; Chandler, present. The Board reviewed the minutes of the previous regular meeting. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the minutes as presented. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

The Board opened Bid No. 2024-04 for drug screening devices for the Washita County Treatment Court for July 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024. Bids were received from National Test Systems. Motion made by Chandler seconded by Gossen to award the bid to National Test Systems, the only bid received. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes. Bids are on file for review in the County Clerk’s office.
Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the Interlocal Agreement between Canadian County and Washita County for the housing of Canadian County inmates. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Cordell and Washita County for the housing of inmates from the City of Cordell. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Cordell and Washita County for the assistance of the Washita County Reserve Deputies to the City of Cordell. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the contract between Western Plains Youth & Family Service and Washita County for juvenile detention services at the Northwest Oklahoma Regional Juvenile Detention Center. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the contract between CWA Group and Washita County for architectural services at the Washita County Activity Center. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes. The Board discussed the written quotes received for a video and audio system installation at the Washita County Activity Center. Quotes were received from the following: Ford Audio – no quote received; Burrows Pro Audio & Video - $24,992.51. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to accept the quote provided by Burrows Pro Audio & Video. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
The Board discussed the installation of window coverings at the Washita County Activity Center. Motion made by Chandler seconded by Gossen to approve the quoted in the amount of $1,170.00 provided by Carol’s Custom Drapery & Interiors. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
The Board discussed some other areas of the Activity Center including the drainage in the animal wash area and an awning on the east side of the building. Further information about both will be obtained from the fair board members and discussed again at a later time. No action was taken.
