Cordell Chamber of Commerce’s new Board of Directors have wasted no time in leapimg forward with plans for several new and several improved events for area citizens to enjoy throughout the coming year.
March will be a big month with bingo nights at the Washita Theatre, blockbuster movies, Chamber Member Appreciation Day, Spring Break matinees, and a jam-packed day of fun on March 30th with the Eggstravaganza Fair & Fun Day in the park.
As for movie showings at the Washita Theatre, Dune: Part 2 will show on its opening weekend, Feb. 29th March 3rd and again from March 7th- 9th followed by the latest Kung Fu Panda series installment on March 14th - 16th and March 21st - 23rd. Kung Fue Panda 4 will also show during Spring Break at 3:00 p.m. on March 18th - 22nd. Ordinary Angels will finish out the month on March 28th - 30th.
March 16th will be the first ever Chamber Member Appreciation Day at the theater. Chamber members will get 4 tickets to the movie “Field of Dreams” This event will replace the annual Chamber Banquet, which has seen declining attendance over the last few years.
Bingo Nights, Bingo Nights! One of the most-requested Chamber events will take place on March 7th in the Cave at the theater. Depending on the success of this evevent, another Bingo Night is tentatively scheduled for March 21st.
The grand finale of March will be the Eggstravaganza Fair & Fun Day, held on March 30th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Lee Park.
There will be Indian Tacos and hot dogs for sale, vendors with all types of wares, a sidewalk chalk contest for school-aged kids, Easter egg hunts for both kids and adults, jump houses, Easter Bunny visits, and so much more. At 3 p.m., head on over to the Washita Theatre and watch Hop.
