There’s plenty to love about Washita County’s National 4-H Week

For 120 years, 4-H has continued to shape lives, inspire career interests, and impact communities and families. From October 1-7, we will celebrate the impact of this organization during National 4-H Week. Each year, 4-H has a theme, and this year's theme is 'I 4-H.'

During the first week of October, 4-H'ers celebrate this week with four-leaf clovers and green colors.

As we recognize the theme 'I 4-H,' we are reminded that every child has valuable strengths and real influence that improve the world around us.

As stated in the National 4-H Week Proclamation, expanding from its solid agricultural roots, 4-H helps young people explore the world around them and grow into productive adults, and while supporting future leaders in science, agriculture, and community leadership, it is vital for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Institute of Food and Agriculture 4-H program.

Shout out a 4-H'er this week and recognize the hard work and dedication these youth and/or the entire group put out. Local programs in surrounding areas are always looking for resources to help continue growing 4-H in the future. Help programs bloom by making a donation that may help support your county's 4-H program.
