Washita Co. Commissioners minutes

Now on the 28th day of August 2023, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Goeringer calling the meeting to order.

Chairman Goeringer asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call. Roll call was answered by Gossen, present; Goeringer, present; Chandler, present.

The Board reviewed the minutes of the previous regular meeting. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the minutes as presented. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the blanket purchase orders as filed in the County Clerk’s Office. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

The Board was notified of the cancellation of the following warrant due to it being the incorrect amount: Warrant no. Date Vendor Amount Fund 111 08/07/23 Cordell Lumber Yard $911.59 General No action was taken.

The Board discussed the contract renewal for phone and internet service at the Washita County Justice Center. No action was taken.

Motion made by Goeringer seconded by Gossen to sign the County deeds signing ownership of the county properties, sold at the Commissioners Sales on August 11, 2023, to the highest bidders. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Chandler seconded by Gossen to sign Resolution No. 2023-52 disposing of the following equipment for the Foss Fire Department: FD628-001 – Brooks Ice Machine, S/N R02978J, Acquired 05/06/2015 from Brooks Industries in the amount of $2,300.00; junked. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Goeringer seconded by Gossen to sign the agreement between Enel Green Power and Washita County for a donation received in the amount of $10,000.00 for the EMS Services and Fire Departments through the Emergency Management department. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Goeringer seconded by Gossen to sign Resolution No. 2023-53 accepting the donation from Enel Green Power and establishing an account for the use of the funds, restricted to the purchase of iPads and iPad accessories, for the EMS Services and Fire Departments through the Emergency Management Department. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to reconvene at 9:32 a.m. The Board observed the amount of items stored at this location and discussed moving the items stored at this location to another location due to the possible sale of this property. No action was taken.

Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to recess at 10:02 a.m. to relocate to the laundry mat in Cordell to look at this location for a possible storage option. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to reconvene at 10:10 a.m. at the laundry mat located 1 block south of the Courthouse. The Board observed the facility and discussed storage options at this location. No action was taken.

Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to recess at 10:24 a.m. to relocate to the OSU Extension Office at 125 W. Main St. to discuss storage options at this location. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
