Weekly 4H Club Activity Report

The 102nd Oklahoma 4-H Roundup was held July 25-28, 2023. Larissa Mason, BF-DC Senior Leader and Paige Brittian, Washita County Educator were our chaperones. Tuesday evening, we ate at Eskimo Joes and then socialized on the OSU campus.

Wednesday was a full day of activities that was highlighted by Brance Barnett presenting a campaign speech for President. We ate at Hideaway Pizza and then had an afternoon of workshops. Lori Barnett helped Brance present his Leather Feathers workshop. Evie Denny and Kathryn Sirmon participated in the talent competition, Kathryn was 2nd place and Evie placed 3rd. Pete’s picnic was Wednesday evening. Brance helped with 2 booths, Healthy Living Ambassadors had painted clothespins that each participant added an encouragement message and pinned it on someone else, and State Ambassadors had a questionnaire booth. The night concluded with a concert featuring Ben Thomas and a dance.

Thursday featured Melvin Adams as the keynote speaker in the opening assembly. After lunch there were more workshops and competitions, Brance was in charge of the Clover Bowl as an ambassador. The Honors Night Banquet was attended by Brance Barnett followed by the Honors Night Assembly where Brance was recognized as a National Congress Delegate, $1200 Noble Research Foundation Soil Health Scholarship and Top 10 Hall of Fame and Blue Award. Thursday evening concluded with another dance.

Friday morning the Keynote speaker encouraged us to spread Joy. The newly elected Officer team was introduced. Those attending from Burns Flat-Dill City were: Evie Denny, Kathryn Sirmon, Joey Mooney and Brance Barnett. Also attending from Washita County was Addison McKee.
