Washita County Road Hands hold a wildfire training for heavy equipment operators with the OSU (ltap) program at Burns Flat at the Western Technology Center. The event was put on by Washita County Emergency Manager, Kenneth Trent, with help from Danny Britton with Western Technology Center, OSU ITAP instructors, and Dan Feltman who helped find a spot to do the field training to make fire lines. Western Equipment provided a delicious steak lunch.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Washita County Commissioners.
Emergency Manager Trent stated “I would like to say this is one of the best trainings that we’ve had in my ten years for the County, and we look forward to having more in the future. Anytime you put on an event like this it takes a lot of people coming together to make it happen. I would also like to thank anyone who helped that we did not mention.”
