Storms leave power outages, damages

    After a massive rolling storm system swept through Washita County on Saturday, July 8th, bringing mass amounts of rain and destructive winds, several Cordell residents woke up to damage and fallen trees.

    Multiple residents reported damaged roofs, fences, cars, and windows.

    Along with the damages sustained, many households and businesses were left without power following the storm for several hours. The City of Cordell worked diligently to restore lost power effectively and promptly.

    The City of Cordell will pick up fallen limbs and branches on Monday, July 24th. Limbs and branches must be placed or stacked by the curb and cut into lengths no longer than eight to ten feet. The City of Cordell will not be picking up additional items.
