Charges were dismissed on May 18th against a former Cordell Police officer who had been accused of Domestic Assault and Battery In the Presence of a Minor, which is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
Officers had been called to the home of Adam Michael Hopper on May 6th after a domestic disturbance was reported.
After further investigation, District Attorney Angela Marsee filed a motion to dismiss charges on May 13th, and the case was heard before District Judge Gatlin, who ordered the case dismissed without prejudice and all costs to the Defendant waived.
