KEEP OKLAHOMA BEAUTIFUL is sponsoring the Great American Clean up in Canute, OK along with CPR-Canute Preservation & Restoration and the Town of Canute on April 22, 2023 at 9:00 AM. The cleanup will be at the Canute Fire Department and the RYM. CPR will distribute cleanup supplies, trash bags, water, vest & gloves provided by Keep Oklahoma Beautiful. OG&E Energy awarded CPR with the GACinOK Cash Grant award for participating for the first time in the Great American Clean up in Oklahoma. This grant will go towards purchasing additional supplies or tools to complete the cleanup.
All citizens are encouraged and welcome to participate in helping with the Great American Cleanup in Canute. Volunteers will be meeting at the Canute Fire Department at 9:00 am, April 22, 2023. The Fire Department cleanup is in honor of Monty Brinkley, a lifetime Canute Volunteer Firefighter, also former Chief of Fire Department for many years. After working at the Fire Department, volunteers will continue to the Rym building to continue the cleanup. The Rym Center (Regeneration Youth Ministry) is reopening to provide ministry in the community of Canute. The Rym will be hosting Vacation Bible School in July and start back up as a Wednesday evening youth ministry in the fall when school resumes.
