The Cordell Fire Department (CFD) completed yet another successful Halloween season with their notorious Haunted Morgue. Visitors from out of state, local and surrounding areas came to experience the “10/10” and “definitely worth the drive” two-story, 13 room haunted bewilderment of the season. After scaring 190 visitors on Halloween night, the overall ending total topped the charts at 2,694 attendees since opening night on Saturday, October 8.
Aside from the fearful excitement that comes with the Haunted Morgue, it is the biggest fundraiser to date for the CFD. All funds and donations raised at the Haunted Morgue go back into helping CFD serve and protect the community as well as protect themselves with the proper gear and necessities needed. Due to such a successful season, CFD was able to surpass last year's ending total by thousands bringing this year's ending dollar amount well over $40,500. And so the countdown begins, only 339 days left until the next frightful weekend in October.
