The Cordell Chamber of Commerce and the Cordell Fire Department have pulled out all the stops for this year’s 4th of July Hometown Celebration and Red White & Boom fireworks show. The event is being held Saturday, July 2nd at Lee Park and is sponsored by the City of Cordell and the Cordell City Council.
Beginning at 4 pm, the Cordell Chamber’s kids jump zone will open with two different giant inflatables. Wrist bands for the jump zone will be $10 and will allow the kids to play from 4 – 8 pm.
Approximately 15 shopping vendors will be open under the pavilion and there will be three food trucks available.
The Backyard Cornhole Tournament will begin at 5 pm. Entry fee for the tournament is $20 for teams of two. Visit the Chamber of Commerce office or call Sarah Lau at 832-3538 to register.
The Cordell Public Swimming Pool will be open from 1 pm until midnight. The theme for Midnight Swim is Hawaiian/Beach and there will be prizes for best tropical beachwear. Admission to the pool is $3 for ages 5-11 and $4 for ages 12 & up. Children 4 and under are free.
The Cordell Fire Department will present the Red White & Boom firework display at Gregory Park fields at approximately 9:30 pm. Citizens are reminded that absolutely no personal fireworks are to be set off at the baseball fields on Saturday. Monday, July 4th will be the designated time for personal fireworks.
