Washita County Historical Museum needs community’s support

June 17th will mark the Washita County Historical Museum’s third week welcoming visitors since a long closure. The first week showed exciting numbers, but the crowd dwindled for the second week’s Friday exhibition hours.

The museum needs support from our community in order to continue operating. Museum Hostess Callie Beech Seibold volunteers her time to open the doors, but other expenses must be paid and the Historical Society is counting on donation dollars to keep the costs covered.

At this time only the upper level of the building is open to visitors. The lower level needs work in order to be ready for the public. Items have to be catalogued and new exhibit areas built, while some existing exhibits need repair.

Please show your support by visiting regularly and contributing if you can. Help spread the word about this hidden gem.
