The Cordell Public Pool (CPP) summer season has started off with a splash!
Around the end of May, just in time for opening day, the City of Cordell repainted the bottom of the pool for a much-needed improvement. Free swim day was offered on Sunday, June 5, and it was a successful first day open for the pool- bringing in over 200 excited swimmers! Despite recent rain levels and high winds, CPP Manager Candace Dudgeon ensures the upkeep of the chemical levels and water cleanliness. Dudgeon stated that on average the pool sees roughly 75 eager-to-swim community members daily. The CPP is open every day, excluding Monday, from 1:00 to 6:00 pm. For those that enjoy an early morning water walking session, the pool is available 9:00 am to noon Tuesday through Saturday and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Not only is the CPP fun and affordable with daily admission for senior citizens (65 and up) at $2, adults (12-64) at $4, students (5-11) at $3, but it is free to children four and under and to water walkers. If you are a frequent CPP visitor, season passes are a great option. Passes are only $65 for individual students (5-11), $85 for individual adults (12 and over), and $115 for a family pass up to six people; costing only $20 to add another family member. Thinking about having a pool party? Reserving the pool is easy and simple. Call the CPP at (580) 660-1280 for available dates. Parties can only be held on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Reservation pricing begins at $50 for one to 25 people, $75 for 26-50 people and only $100 for more than 50 people. Enjoy this hot summer more by cooling off with friends and family at your local swimming pool!
