Cordell student wins Masonic Charity Foundation Senior Essay Contest

The Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma’s Senior Essay Contest has been around since 1966 to provide graduating students an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussion on current events.

The essay contest is open to any senior that is currently enrolled in an Oklahoma Public School. Out of hundreds of submissions, Triston Jones of Cordell High School placed fifth.

“I personally thought that my essay wouldn’t go that far in the contest, that it would be part of the thousands of essays that didn’t make the cut, but the fact that my writing got 5th place in something like this, well, it’s hard to put feelings into words,” said Jones.

The Beacon congratulates Triston on being an outstanding student and a statewide winner!
