This week our Cordell Blue Devil Student Spotlight is Emma’Leigh Holman. Emma is a sports addicted, mac & cheese loving fifth grader at Cordell Elementary. Emma has never met a stranger, just a friend she hasn’t spoken to yet. Emma is an older sister and tries to always be a good role model. There are no limits to what she is capable of accomplishing. Read more below about what Emma wants to be when she grows up.
Can you tell me a little about yourself? What is your favorite thing to do, favorite food, etc.?
I love to play basketball and softball. My favorite food has to the schools mac & cheese. I have a dog named Shiloh. She’s a rescue that we loved and decided to keep.
How has your school year been so far? Have you done anything really fun and exciting?
My school year is going great. I love to go to school everyday to learn and see my friends. The most exciting thing so far this year has been playing school basketball. I am looking forward to starting ancestry in Mrs. Wedel’s class soon.
What is your favorite part about school? Who are your friends?
My favorite thing about school is learning the things I didn’t know before. I try to be friendly to everyone in school. Some of my close friends are Rylee Larsen, McKinley Moore, Brylie Reeves and Mylee Brunker.
What are you most excited about for the second half of the school year?
We are going to be doing ancestry soon and I’m looking forward to starting that.

What do you want to be when you grow up? What would you like to do?
When I grow up I want to be a pilot. I want to travel around the world. I think being a pilot would help me follow my dream of seeing the world.
What makes you happy?
My family and playing my favorite sports.

I love to laugh a lot. Being goofy and making others laugh brings me the most joy?
