Cordell Board of Education announces new Superintendent

Wednesday, Jan. 26, the Board of Education voted to hire Travis Victory as the new Superintendent at the special board meeting.

“As a longtime Oklahoma and Texas education professional and administrator, Mr. Victory has the knowledge and passion to help provide our students with the skills and tools needed to succeed,” stated Cordell Public Schools.

Mr. Victory is scheduled to start his journey as superintendent of Cordell Schools this summer.

In the public announcement to the Cordell school community on Wednesday evening, Cordell Public Schools went on to say that Victory has extensive experience in the classroom, as a coach, teacher and as an administrator. Victory has worked in both the Texas and Oklahoma education systems, making him more than qualified to lead our students.

Victory began his teaching career with Strother High School after receiving his bachelor’s degree in social studies.

“In 2014, after obtaining his master’s degree in administration and educational leadership from Southern Nazarene University, he moved into administration and was hired as the elementary principal for Medford Public Schools,” announced Cordell Public Schools.

Victory’s extensive career as an education professional and administrator has flourished through his teaching service in Texas as a sixth grade math teacher at Estacado Independent School District, elementary principal at Kress and Friona Independent School Districts, and as the junior high principal for Clarendon Independent School District.

With the help from Mr. Victory and his extensive knowledge, passion and experience as a communicator and leader, Cordell will continue to provide Blue Devil students with quality education
