A Sentinel man died Friday, December 3rd, in a one vehicle accident that occured at approximately 11:40 p.m. on OK-44, about one half of a mile south of Sentinel in Washita County.
Richard Lee Barge was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe departed the roadway to the right of a curve and then over-corrected and departed the roadway to the left, striking a barb wire fence which then caused the Tahoe to roll an undetermined number of times.
Mr. Barge was ejected from the vehicle. It was determined that seatbelts were not in use at the time of the accident.
Trooper Jared Boese #264 was assisted by the Washita County Sheriff’s Department and the Sentinel police and fire departments.
The cause of the accident was reported as ‘Unsafe Speed’.
