This will be the first of many years to come for the Christmas Bazaar. City Board members, Mayor Vicky Parkinson, Trustee Toni Lesley, Trustee Leanna Dobbs, and City Clerk Gail Wilkins were instrumental in putting together this event that will benefit the community of Rocky.
The Bazaar will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at the old Rocky Gym located off Highway 183. There will be several vendors there that are sure to please everyone who attends. Attendees can expect to see boutique clothing, baked goods, etched glass, Scentsy, Younique, home décor, essential oils, and so much more!
This is a perfect event to shop for Christmas gifts, stocking stuffers for loved ones or a gift for yourself. Main St Boutique and Photography will be donating their time to take Santa Pictures from 10 a.m to 12 p.m. at no cost. Be sure to shop their booth as well. Santa will be at the bazaar for the duration of pictures as this is a very busy time of year.
“I would like to see what kind of turnout we’ll have and get vendors in the door to bring more vendors in for next year. I want people to spread the word that Rocky is going to start trying to do things in the winter and in the summer to attract more attention. I want people to come and bring their kids to see Santa,” said Trustee Lesley on her hopes for Saturday.
The City Board will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a box of goodies made up of items from each vendor present. Rocky is trying to raise money for their park fund to expand and add additional playground equipment. The journey to beautify the community has begun.
“I have lived in Rocky since 2015 and I really enjoy it. It’s a very nice, quiet little town. There are some things there that I would like to improve on. So we’re doing more fundraisers and bazaars to hopefully draw more attention,” said Trustee Lesley.
Clear your weekend calendar and make plans to spend a fun and exciting day at the Rocky Christmas Bazaar. Bring your children to visit Santa and have their picture taken for a lasting memory you can treasure for years to come.
