Throughout history, at home and overseas, they have put their love for their country above all else. This Veterans Day, we proudly honor these brave men and women for their courage, commitment and patriotism.

Walter Swart, 102 years young and a Cordell resident, served in the U S Navy during WWII as Shipfitter Third Class in the Pacific from 1942 thru December 1945. He has shared with family that as a welding instructor he has repaired and been on every inch of battleships and transport ships.
At 100 years young, he donned and modeled his welding leathers with pride for his family and bride of 76 years.

Larry Wayne Parker, U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran of Cordell and his father James Parker, U.S. Army Veteran, deceased.
Eddie Meyers served in the USAF from August 21, 1970, until June of 1980. Separated from military as regular officer (vs reserve officer) with rank of Captain. Finished UPT (Undergraduate Pilot Training) at Reese AFB in Dec. 1971. Instructed at UPT on the primary jet trainer (T-37) from July 1972 until April 1975. Meyers then flew as Aircraft Commander on B-52H in the Strategic Air Command at Minnot AFB in North Dakota.
Clarence Earl Moore of Dill City was killed in Vietnam on September 30th, 1965. His Sister is Gale Taylor of Dill City, OK.

SSG Brandon Rogers of the Army National Guard. Brandon served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and retired after more than 20 years of service.
Sr. Lexis Lloyd of the USS Arleigh Burke DIV 454. Daughter of James and Michelle Lloyd, current resident of Cordell and is in active duty. "We miss you and love you and so proud of you Lexis" - Love, Francesca and Kali Bloomer
Sr. Airman Cody Tilley USAF. Stationed at Luke AFB in Glendale, Arizona. Sergeant Tilley graduated from Cordell in 2017.
