The annual fundraiser for the Cordell Academic Foundation is underway. The fundraiser being offered this year is a $500 meat pack from Mike’s Meats. Donations for an opportunity to draw this meat pack are $10 for one chance or $50 for five chances. Chances to win may be purchased from Mike’s Meats, Atlas Title Office, members of the Foundation or at the home high school basketball game Dec. 17. The drawing will be Dec. 17 at the basketball game and you do not have to be present to win. All the funds raised will go to help further the education of the Cordell students.
The Foundation is also funded through memorial donations. This is an excellent way to honor a relative or friend. Recent donations have been made in memory of Dee Hines, Eugene Hines, Bill Nichols, Tommy Merrill and Stuart Akers.
The purpose of the Cordell Academic Foundation is to help provide materials to teachers for learning opportunities through projects that are not funded by the Board of Education. Anyone interested in the education of the Cordell students is welcome to join the Foundation. Meetings are the second Tuesday of the month at 12 p.m. in the Atlas Title Office.
