This week two BF-DC members were delegates at West Action Conference in Weatherford. WAC was a three day conference jam packed with fun, there were 7 different workshops to choose from and a tour of the Tom Stafford Air and Space museum, two dances and 4 keynote speeches.
Kathryn Sirmon, our club president, had the opportunity to lead all of the attendees in the 4-H pledge.
Kathryn also ran for west district southern region recreation leader, and unfortunately she didn’t succeed this year but best of luck to her for next year.
Brance Barnett had the opportunity to help Ashley Purvine with her workshop on goal setting. Brance also got to announce the win ners of the Change For Change and the Pull Tabs For Kids competition winners.
Brance says, “My favorite part of WAC was the dances on Wednesday and Thursday night.”
‘’ Kathryn says that her favorite part was “That the people were so welcoming to me and invited me to do things with them when I was all by myself’’. She continues ,’’I am glad that I took that risk and stepped out of my comfort zone and did my speech, even though I didn’t get recreation leader this year, I won’t give up, and I will definitely be prepared to run next year”.
On behalf of the BF-DC Sr. 4-H club and Washita county 4-H I would like to say thank you to the Tom Stafford Air and Space Museum for allowing us to use their facilities to host this event.
