Cordell Blue Devils come up short against Hobart Bearcats

Despite a hard fought battle, the Blue Devil Football team was unable to pull off a win against the Hobart Bearcats last Friday. The final score was Hobart 43, Cordell 20.

According to Head Coach Zane Trammell, the scoreboard wasn’t a direct reflection of the ballgame.

“I hate for a ballgame to end like that, because the people that weren’t here don’t know how hard our boys fought. We had some things not go our way, and for the most part the team responded well, we had a couple of calls not go our way that were big, like fourth down stops or conversions that didn’t end up counting because of a call here or there,” Trammell said.

Trammel highlighted running back Blaine Larsen’s growth as a player, “in his senior year, he has been running the heck out of the ball, breaking tackles left and right and being patient when he’s supposed to be, he’s doing a really good job.”

Next week, the Blue Devils will play on the road against Minco.

“Next week we will be going into another very competitive game, Minco is one of the better teams in our district. We are gonna show up, give our best effort, and hopefully put ourselves in a position to compete well, like we did tonight,” Trammell said.

The Cordell Cheer team encourages everyone to wear “out of this world” space themed garb to this game to show your spirit while supporting our Blue Devil Boys.
