Treatment Court participants conduct clean up at Foss Lake

On a hot and extremely windy day, participants in the Washita-Custer County Treatment Court Program helped clean up litter at Foss State Park.

The project took place on July 14, 2021 which shortly followed the annual Foss Lake Christmas in July event.

Fifteen program participants cleaned up areas around Cutberth Campground, Cedar Point, Sunset beach and the Marina. 30 large bags of trash were collected, including aluminum cans to be recycled and a tire.

This event was planned with Barry Hardaway, Foss State Park Manager, and Associate District Judge Christopher S. Kelly. Supervision was provided by Officer Daniel Evans-Department of Corrections, Kathryn Collier-Red Rock Behavioral Health Services, Ana Torres-Custer County Sheriff’s Office and Treatment Court Coordinator Tracy Burton.

Washita-Custer County Treatment Court Program believes in giving back to the communities that support the recovery and well-being of its participants. Projects such as these allow participants to improve the communities in which they live
