Corn Bible student honored by the National Football League
A member of Corn Bible Academy, River Lewis, has been selected as a NFL Way to Play High School Award recipient.
The NFL Way to Play was created in conjunction with NFL Legends to promote proper playing technique across all levels of football. The 2020 season marks the third year of NFL Way to Play, and the second of the NFL Way to Play High School Award.
Lewis is the Week 13 recpient of the award.
“The Way to Play Award is about excellence in football through using proper technique that protects players from unnecessary risk,” said Troy Vincent, NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations. “This award incentivizes strong fundamental playing technique, demonstrates best practices, and at the same time, benefits all levels of the game.”
As part of the honor, Corn Bible Academy will receive a $1,500 equipment grant through USA Football.
To assist with at-home training, several NFL head coaches, current players and NFL Legends have created educational videos for coaches and players.
The videos provide coaching points of emphasis to execute proper technique and as an educational tool.
Burns Flat polling place changed to community center
The polling place for Precinct 750018 has been changed, the Washita County Election Board, announced this week.
Voters in the precinct formerly voted at Western Technology Center located at 621 Sooner Drive in Burns Flat.
Beginning with the Special Election scheduled January 12, 2021, the polling place for Precinct 750018 will be at Burns Flat Community Center, 98 Frontier Way, Burns Flat.
