The Cordell Pee Wee wrestlers made their mark at the OKWA State Tournament this past weekend, competing against some of the best young talent from across the state and bringing home multiple medals.
Leading the way for the Blue Devils was Preslie Dickerson, who captured 1st place for the fourth consecutive year, claiming her spot as one of the top youth wrestlers in Oklahoma. In addition to her championship finish, Dickerson was honored with the Outstanding Wrestler Award for her age division.
Cordell also celebrated several other state placers. Wrestling at the state level demands not only physical strength but mental toughness. Each one of these athletes competed under pressure, in front of large crowds, and against unfamiliar opponents.
•Vera Burch – 3rd place
•Kalley Fuller – 5th place
•Trapper McDougale – 5th place
•Hunter Larsen – 6th place

The OKWA State Tournament is known for its high level of competition, and simply qualifying is an accomplishment in itself. The strong showing by Cordell’s Pee Wee wrestlers highlights the continued growth and success of the local youth wrestling program.
