Prepare yourself, Cordell! The most exciting Saturday of the summer is just three days away! The annual Hometown Celebration is happening this Saturday, June 28, and it’s shaping up to be an action-packed, memory-making day for the whole family. From sunrise to midnight, the schedule is bursting with fun, food, festivities, and, of course, fireworks!
Set those alarms, grab your lawn chairs, and line the streets for the Stars, Stripes & Sparks Parade starting at 9:00 a.m. sharp. It’s the perfect way to kick off a fun-filled day. Want to show off your float, tractor, bike, or even your golf cart? Contact the Cordell Chamber of Commerce on Facebook to get in the lineup! Be sure to watch for the parade route announcement.
The Washita Activity Center will transform into a shopping wonderland from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., featuring booths filled with a variety of items, including handmade crafts and jewelry, baked goods, motorcycles, spices, and more. There’s something for everyone. (P.S. Food spots are already full, so come hungry for the ready-to-go options!)
If you love chrome, horsepower, and shiny paint jobs, the Car Show is calling your name! Registration is open from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., and for just $20 per car, you can show off your ride. The Top 10 trophies will be awarded at 2:45 p.m.
Thanks to Jen’s Inflatables LLP, the Kids Zone is ready to go with jump houses galore! All-day wristbands are just $5, letting the little ones bounce, slide, and play to their hearts’ content.

Whether you’re tapping your toes or dancing in the street, the tunes are FREE. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy hot dogs and snow cones from the Cordell Band Boosters.

Registration is at 9:00 a.m., and play starts at 10:30 a.m. It’s $20 per team, with $5 supporting the Chamber and the rest going to the winners. Feeling lucky? Hit up Bingo from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., sponsored by the Washita Theatre. Just $0.50 per card per game, with reusable cards provided. It’s a fun, friendly competition with plenty of laughs.
The grand finale starts with Cruise Night around the square and down Glenn English. Once the sun sets, head to the Cordell Airport for the Red, White & Boom Fireworks Show, sponsored by the Cordell Fire Department and the City of New Cordell.
