Washita County Commissioners’ Minutes

Now on the 29th day of June 2026, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Chandler calling the meeting to order.

Chairman Chandler asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call. Roll call was answered by Gossen, present; Gray, present; Chandler, present.

Prayer was led by Chairman Chandler. The Board participated in the budget planning conference held by the Washita County Excise Board with each of the department heads. The following financial information available as of June 26, 2026 was reviewed: estimated cash fund balance - $1,065,542.04, estimated allowable budget - $3,085,164.40, and total of FY27 estimate of needs - $3,787,158.47. No action was taken. The Board reviewed the minutes of the June 22, 2026 regular meeting. Motion made by Gray seconded by Gossen to approve the minutes as presented. The Board was notified of a change to the requisition officers for the OSU Extension Center. Jeremy Church will replace Kristy Spalding. No action was taken.

The Board was notified of the requisition and receiving officers for July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027 for all departments. No action was taken. The Board discussed the Burns Flat EMS service district. The Town of Burns Flat is holding a meeting on June 29, 2026 to discuss an agreement with Sinor to provide service until December 31, 2026. No action was taken.
