Cruise into Cordell’s Hometown Celebration

Start your engines and shine those wheels; the Cordell Hometown Celebration Car Show is ready to rev up as part of the community’s big day of festivities on Saturday, June 28, at the Washita County Activity Center!

Whether you’ve got a classic cruiser, a modern muscle car, or a custom-built beauty, this event is your chance to show off your ride and connect with your fellow car lovers. Open to all makes and models, the Car Show invites enthusiasts of every kind to join the fun and compete for a spot in the Top 10 Participant’s Choice Awards; participants will cast the votes, giving each car owner a chance to appreciate the craftsmanship of their fellow gearheads while vying for their place in the spotlight.

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m., and all vehicles must be checked in and ready to shine by the time judging ends at 1:00 p.m.

There is a $20 entry fee per vehicle, and awards will be presented to the Top 10 during the awards ceremony at 2:45 p.m.

The Car Show is just one piece of a packed schedule at this year’s Hometown Celebration, so after checking out the shiny rides, stick around for live music, inflatables, vendors, and the Red, White, and Boom Fireworks Show to finish off the day.

Be sure to grab next week’s edition of the Cordell Beacon for even more exciting details about games, contests, and surprises planned for the big day.
