Cordell athletes proved once again that hard work and commitment pave the road to success, bringing home major hardware from this year’s state competitions in track and golf.
At the OSSAA Class 2A Girls State Golf Tournament held May 5-6 at Winter Creek Golf Course in Blanchard, Mackinlee Brunker delivered an elite-level showing, claiming the 2A Girls State Champion title. Close behind her was teammate Birdie Brown, who battled her way to become this year’s State Runner-Up!
Meanwhile, on the track at Western Heights on May 10, Calliy Walker made her name known by seizing the State Championship in the 1600-meter run. That’s not all she claimed—Walker also earned State Runner-Up in the 3200meter run, giving top-tier effort in every stride.
These student-athletes have not only raised the bar— they’ve soared over it. Whether sprinting under sunny skies or teeing off in stormy conditions, they represent the pride of the Cordell Blue Devils. Congratulations girls!
