Cordell Memorial Hospital

A Message from Melinda Laird, CEO/CNO

April showers are here, and we are all welcoming the much needed rain. The days are getting a little warmer and we look forward to being outside.

We continually monitor the measle cases in Oklahoma, with no cases reported in Washita County. The Oklahoma State Health Department guidelines are followed for your protection. Do not come to the hospital or the clinic. We ask that you call, we can arrange for testing and instruct in treating any fever.

This week in April is a busy time for the hospital with ways to help you monitor your health, Physical Wellness Month. Our annual Health Fair is on Friday April 25 from 9am to 3pm with screenings for Diabetes and Cholesterol. We will also be offering the Heart Scan and Lung Scan at the discounted rate of $50. If you are interested in knowing your blood type, we will also be able to do that for you. The Wound Care services will be available to help you with wound care questions. All of this will be at the hospital and if you come during lunch, you can enjoy our lunch meal for $5.00.

The Community Unity Day is on Saturday April 26th at the Washita County Activity Center. There will be information about Health, Safety and Support. All of this is on our Facebook page and in the Beacon this week.

The first WIC day was Tuesday, April 22, at the CMH Women’s Clinic. This will continue the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 9am to Noon and 1pm until 4p. WIC has been away from Cordell for many years, and we are very happy to have it return to Cordell. We want to thank our partners with the Kiowa County Health Department, and we are excited to be working with them.

We are also celebrating our Lab Team this week, April 2026. The CMH lab is a fully comprehensive lab, and we provide services so you don’t have to drive for your lab work or radiology. If you or your physician have any questions about what we provide they can look at our website or give us a call.

April is Physical Wellness Month, National Cancer Control Month and National Stress Awareness Month. It is important to get your body moving and eat healthily, we are here to help you.

I hope you have enjoyed the highlights of staff and departments at CMH on our Facebook page. We celebrate all our employees and want you too also. We are one team caring for you!!!

For your health and wellness,

Melinda
