Bob Ogle retires from Cloud Chief Fire Department after 16 years

After 16 years of dedicated service, Bob Ogle has retired from the Cloud Chief Fire Department. Bob joined the department in 2008, the same year it was established, and has been an active and committed firefighter ever since.

“In 2008, a group of local young men got together to organize the Cloud Chief Fire Department and invited me along for the ride. This was a very important event for my family and the community. It filled a void where a fire brigade was desperately needed,” said Bob.

Throughout his years of service, Bob and his wife, Charlinda, have played a vital role in the department’s fundraising efforts. Their support and dedication have contributed significantly to the growth and success of the Cloud Chief Fire Department.

“The department has been blessed with great leadership and volunteer firefighters. Under this leadership, the department has grown tremendously with the recruitment of young men and our first young lady as volunteer firefighters.”

The department follows a tradition in which each firefighter is assigned a unique badge number upon joining. This number remains theirs alone and is retired along with them when they step away from service.

“I would like to thank the Cloud Chief Fire Department for allowing me to go along on the ride,” expressed Bob.

He carried badge number 12, and Cloud Chief 12 was officially retired.

“On behalf of the Cloud Chief community, the Cloud Chief Fire Department, and Washita County residents, we would like to say thank you, Bob, for your service and dedication! Best wishes in your retirement, Brother,” the department stated in recognition of his years of commitment.

Bob’s departure marks the end of an era for the department, but his impact will continue for years. A sincere thank you goes to him for his service, bravery, and dedication to keeping the community safe.
