Richard Dale Giblet passed from this life on September 28, 2024, at home surrounded by his family, at age 80.
He was born on June 18, 1944, in Cordell, Oklahoma, to Arby Leland and Betty Mae (Black) Giblet. Richard grew up in Cordell and graduated high school from Cordell as well. After graduating, he worked with his father at Giblet Motor Company in Cordell and served in the Army Reserves.
He married the love of his life Toni Gay Hoefar, and they were blessed with three children, Kristen, Shannon, and Kyle. Richard worked as a telecom engineer for over 30 years until his retirement. In his free time, he loved fishing, gardening, spoiling his grandkids, and talking endlessly about old cars to his brother. He was a longtime member of the Bible M.B. Church in Cordell.
Richard is survived by his wife Toni of the home, daughter Kristen and husband Troy Lee, daughter Shannon and husband Thomas Parsley, and son Kyle and wife Kimberly Giblet.
He leaves a legacy of ten grandchildren: Amanda, Mariah, Marty, Kathryn, Storm, Dennis, Christopher, Casey, Gabby, and Teague, as well as 13 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A. L. and Betty Giblet, his brother, Brad Giblet, his brothers-in-law Darl Hoefar, Joe Trammel, and Phil Horton, and his nephew, Walter Horton.
Graveside services for Richard were held Tuesday, October 1, 2024, 10:00 A.M., at South Burns Cemetery.
