The Cordell Sonic Drive-In team has made an impressive mark in the 2024 Dr Pepper Sonic Games, earning a spot among the top 50 teams nationwide.

BOARD OF EDUCATION CORDELL PUBLIC SCHOOLS REGULAR MEETING MINUTES June 26, 2024 Cordell Board of Education met in regular session Wednesday, June, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Education Room. The meeting was called to order by board President Jeff Jaronek.

Driver leads police on foot chase; man causes ruckus at city pool

On June 22 at approximately 11:45 pm a Cordell Officer observed a 2010 Silver Nissan travelling east on Main Street in Cordell. The driver, later identified as Aaron Louis Ray of Clinton, was observed to be driving outside of his lane, riding the center line, and picking up spe ed rapidly.

Washita Co. Commissioners

Now on the 8th day of July 2024, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Goeringer calling the meeting to order.Chairman Goeringer asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call.

Enrollment approaches for Cordell Public Schools

Summer vacation is drawing to a close as the first day of school is coming soon. Students will begin class on August 8th, and teachers and faculty will begin their professional days on August 5th.Online enrollment is available this year for returning students only.

Cordell Public Schools is thrilled to announce Bruce Munden’s arrival as the new head football coach. He will be accompanied by his wife, Shelby Munden, who will serve as the assistant softball coach.

‘Twisters Day’ in Cordell ends with sold-out showing at Washita Theatre

Area residents and guests had a fun and exciting day in Cordell’s downtown square last Saturday for the Chambers of Commerce’s event, Twisters Day, in celebration of the opening weekend of the blockbuster movie.

Willing Workers hold July meeting

OHCE Willing Workers met at Renae Dodson’s home on July 11th. Jodi Sharum was the hostess. Amber Hall called the meeting to order at 11:46 a.m. and the meeting began with the flag salute. Members then recited the County Creed.
