Cordell School’s Board of Education met in special session on May 29th after the resignation of two members, Board President Jeff Jaronek and Clerk Misty Gossen. Remaining board members Dale Selman, Danielle Ivey, and Cole Gregg voted to appoint Randi Hunter to Gossen’s vacated Office #2 and Andy Davis to Jaronek’s Office #1.
Hunter and Davis were sworn into office and the Board was reorganized with Danielle Ivey named President, Cole Gregg- Vice President, and Dale Selman- Clerk.
The new lineup got right down to business with a unanimous vote for upping the school’s liability insurance limit to 4.5 million upon the recommendation of new Superintendent Sam Belcher. It was reported that other schools carry similar coverage.
Members retreated to Executive Session to discuss the hiring of a teacher/coach and Director of Federal Programs. When the meeting returned to open session, Kendi Spradlin was hired as a math teacher ad coach for the 2025-2026 school year, and Angela Evans was named Director of Federal Programs.
The final business of the evening was the resignation of two teachers, Cara Regier and Jaylee Victory.
The next regularly scheduled meeting will be July 23rd at 6:00 p.m.
