Cordell Junior Class to present “Whispers of the Willow” Prom Night

On the evening of April 11th, the Cordell Junior Class would like to invite parents, family, and guests to be part of this year’s prom night, themed “Whispers of the Willow.” You are welcome to walk through the decorated prom venue at the Washita County Activity Center from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and then stay for the Promenade starting at 6:30. Please park on the east side of the Activity Center and enter through the main entrance on the south end.

Guests will step into a magical setting featuring two glowing willow trees, cascading wisteria, a serene water feature, and warm purple and gold lighting accented by twinkling fairy lights. The atmosphere will create a dreamy, elegant experience for an unforgettable night for our Cordell students.

Prom Night will begin at 6:30 p.m.,with the Promenade. Students will make their grand entrance as they drive south down Massingale toward the Activity Center (between the Activity Center and the elementary).

Official promenade photographs will be taken in front of the circle drive between the Activity Center and Auditorium. Weather permitting, additional photo opportunities for students will be available before guests enter the venue. Bleacher seating will be provided, but guests are encouraged to bring a folding chair. If the weather does not cooperate, Promenade will be moved indoors. Students will pull into the north barn and be announced in the Show Ring barn, where bleachers are available for guests to sit (as done for the last 2 years).

For the banquet meal, Cordell sophomores will be serving a meal featuring steak, potatoes, salad, brownies, and ice cream. Later in the evening, a mac & cheese bar will be available during the prom dance. The finale of prom night will include the crowning of the 2025 Prom King and Queen. After the dance, the fun will continue at After Prom, sponsored by the Senior Parents.
