The City of Cordell has closed the deal on the purchase of CKenergy’s former office building and associated properties.
On October 9th, city officials met with CKenergy management and their attorney to go over final details and sign purchase paperwork.
This paves the way for a major upgrade of various city departments’ facilities. The purchase was completed without incurring any debt for the City of Cordell, as funds came mostly from allocations for the demolition of the ‘mural building.’ Asbestos abatements grants from the DEQ paid for the demolition, freeing up budget outlays to be used for the new purchase.
More details will be forthcoming about the planned usage of the newly purchased facilities, as well as plans for re-purposing the current city facilities.
