Grab your forks and bring your appetites because the Bessie Fire Department’s Pancake and Whole Hog Sausage Supper Fundraiser is back! Mark your calendars for Monday, March 3rd, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event will be hosted at the Bessie Gym, where the griddles will be sizzling, and the syrup will be flowing for locals to enjoy an all-you-can-eat feast of fluffy pancakes and mouthwatering rolled sausage.
This isn’t just any old pancake supper fundraiser- the firefighters and community members will flip flapjacks while attendees gather and lineup to fill their bellies and support the local fire department. And if breakfast for dinner wasn’t exciting enough and the thought of unlimited pancakes wasn’t enough to get you through the door, hold onto your syrup bottles – there will be a gun raffle and, yes, a flamethrower raffle because nothing says “firefighter fundraiser” like a chance to win a flamethrower!
The raffle prizes include a Glock G19 G5 9mm FS FDE and an XM42-X Flamethrower, with each chance priced at $20. The drawings for both items will take place at 7:30 p.m. on March 3rd, and winners do not have to be present to win.
For those who can’t get enough of that whole hog sausage, a variety of options will be available. Smoked and un-smoked link sausage (2lb) will be sold for $12.00, while bulk sausage (2lb) is also priced at $12.00. Liver sausage will be available at $6.00 per pound or four for $20.00. Additionally, ribs will be sold in packages for $15.00.
Back on the menu this year, official Bessie Fire-Rescue T-shirts will be available for purchase.
All-you-can-eat dining is for those who choose to dine in at the gym, while to-go orders are not refillable. Drive-thru pickup will be available on the west side of the gym for those who prefer to grab their food and go. Admission prices are $13.00 for adults, $7.00 for children under 12, and $13.00 for all to-go orders.
All proceeds from this local favorite event go straight to the Bessie Fire Department, ensuring they have the necessary equipment and resources to continue protecting the community. So bring your family, your friends, and your appetite. Come for the pancakes and sausage, grab a seat, enjoy some good conversation, and leave with a full belly and maybe a little more heavily armed!
