The Beacon brings home honors from OPA Convention

The Cordell Beacon earned statewide recognition this past weekend at the Oklahoma Press Association Convention, held in Shawnee, on Friday and Saturday, June 6-7. Representing the newspaper, Brooklynn Peek brought home a collection of awards and certificates of excellence in both journalism and advertising.

Peek received first place for a large space ad, as well as second place for another large space ad and second place for a small space ad.

In the editorial categories, Peek received second place for a sports story, second place for a news story, second place for a business story, and third place for an education story.

The Oklahoma Press Association Convention is an annual event that brings together journalists, editors, photographers, and designers from across the state to celebrate outstanding work in the industry.
