Thrive program supports sudent growth and well-being
Cordell Public Schools Superintendent, Travis Victory is excited to announce an update on its partnership with the Thrive Learning Collaborative. This innovative program provides students with alternative learning options.
Currently, there are 4 full-time students enrolled in the Thrive program. These students can complete their schoolwork from home on a more flexible schedule, allowing them to balance academic responsibilities with jobs or participation in extracurricular activities such as band, athletics, or agricultural programs.
In addition, Cordell has 17 part-time students utilizing the Thrive program to enhance their educational experience. These students benefit from opportunities such as:
• Higher-level courses: Accessing advanced classes not offered at Cordell High School due to limited local demand • Credit recovery: Completing courses needed to meet graduation requirements after transferring schools or recovering from past academic challenges.
• Schedule flexibility: Creating space in their schedules to take college courses or participate in Career Tech programs.
Superintendent Travis Victory expressed enthusiasm about the Thrive program’s positive impact on Cordell students. “This program allows Cordell Public Schools to offer our students the same educational opportunities as urban districts, which often have more teachers to provide advanced and diverse courses,” Victory said. “As superintendent, I am always looking for innovative ways to ensure the success of our students—not just academically but in all areas of their lives.”
The Thrive program aligns with Cordell Public Schools’ mission to prioritize the academic success of every child while equipping students with the skills and tools they need to succeed after graduation.
